FAQ

Flush or Floating? The letters come with threaded studs and spacers. (see image below) You screw the studs onto the letters hand tight. Then you can push letters flush up to the wall after holes are prepped. If you use the provided 1/4″ spacers your letters will be stand-off 1/4″.

What size letters will fit my space? I suggest you goto my Sign Sizes? page. It has samples of single and double garage door. Your house may not match but the size is relative.

What if I choose the wrong size? We will work it out in the design phase and you will be able to see it to size. If your decide to go smaller we refund any money immediately.

Do you come out and measure our house? No, sorry we work remotely and rely on your picture and a measurement to mock-up the address.

What is the most popular material? Matte Black Acrylic

I’m interested in purchasing what do I do first?

1.Goto the calculator page and type in your address sign text. Choose which size, colour, material, lustre and whether or not you want Free Shipping or Professional installation. Then Place Order. You will need to enter customer and billing information.

2.The payment will be followed with designing a mock-up. You will need to email us an image of the address area and a measurement for referencing. Our designer (me) will usually wait a day or so for an image. I will contact you to request an image.

You submit level image of your address area.

If you have a simple address number and do not want a mock-up you can opt out and we will approve and send to production.

3. You will have the chance to modify and adjust size or font until satisfied.

4. If you paid for 10 inch and you decided to reduce it to 9 inch.  We issue refunds immediately.

5. You will need to approve the mock-up before production.

6. You approve, we send to production.

How long is production? 10-15 days.

How fast is shipping? We ship Canada Post Expedited. We are located in St. Catharines, Ontario. Expect delays during holidays.

Tracking and Insurance? All sign orders are tracked and insured.

How long is installation? A couple days up to two weeks after that depending on weather and installer availability.

Do I need to be home when the installer is scheduled? No, but its nice for you to see and approve the install pattern placement before install. We will follow approved mock-up layout.

Do you work in the winter? Dec-Feb we install on a day to day basis depending on the cold. If the sun is out and the temp is above or around -4 degrees C. The issue is that the drill pattern is paper and taped to brick or stucco or concrete. The cold weather adds moisture and the condensation does not allow for the tape to stick. With that said if the sun is on it, or it’s siding or wood, the tape might stick as low as -8 degrees C.

How does the sign stick to my house? The letters have threaded holes on the back. You screw on the provided 3/16″ aluminum studs hand tight. You will tape up a drill pattern to your wall level and center. You center punch and drill the mapped out holes with a 3/16″ drill bit. You apply the spacer, silicone and insert each piece like a puzzle. For complete DIY instructions go: Here

What is the difference between Plastic, Lexan, Plexiglass, Polycarbonate, Pvc, Cast Acrylic, Extruded Acrylic and Acrylic +Plus UV Protection?

  1. Acrylic +Plus is a premium cast acrylic with UV protection added to the material when processed. It has better thermal stability, higher resistance to crazing (when a network of very small cracks form) when exposed to solvents, wider thermoforming range than extruded acrylic.
  2. Cast Acrylic and Plexiglass® are the same thing. There are many brands of standard acrylic on the market. Depending on the composition and UV additives could last between 15 and 30 years before the UV breaks them down.
  3. Extruded Acrylic is less stable than Cast acrylic and less expensive per sheet. The material has a outdoor lifespan of 10-20 years.
  4. Polycarbonate is the same as Lexan® and is softer than acrylic. The material is very tough and impact resistant. The drawback is that it scratches more easily and not stable for outdoor long term use. This product has a 5-15 outdoor lifespan.
  5. Pvc is an indoor material and not designed for long term outdoor use. The UV will deteriorate the plastic and it will crack and or become very brittle. The outdoor lifespan for PVC is 5-10 years.
